In Europe having the time of their lives

Tags: , , ,

Hello everybody, this a message from Bree and Alex who are having the time
of their lives in Europe:

We arrived in Amsterdam on the 12th, Saturday, and got to our accomodations
on a house boat pretty much right in the center of downtown. The boat was
cool, the bed was nice, although we didn’t stay there very long, but let us
elaborate.

Having spent 10 days in Amsterdam in 2003 in the red light district we found
ourselves exploring other areas. We got some quick food and ducked into a
bar to watch the end of the local football game between Italy and
Netherlands. Netherlands lost so there wasn’t too much commotion. We next
went to a coffee shop and started drinking and smoking….
We found out that the local gin was the best thing to drink, gin makes Bree
crazy. Good start to a night. Next we left the red light area and went a
little farther south into the clubbish area. We walked around and took lots
of pics, then went into a great little bar called Piano bar. There was a guy
named Barry Rocklin from Boston who had a repetoire of over 2500 cover
songs. He was taking requests all night and every song was bang on, he was
great. So we grabbed a seat at the bar which was actually the piano that was
being played. We sat there and partied heavily until closing. We met some
great people, including Thierry, who was originally from France and now
living in Amsterdam. We, mostly Bree, spoke French to him for a long time.
She was very excited to actually have an opportunity to use her French. The
bar closed @ 4am. Barry, the piano player, came up to us and started
chatting with us, he knew we were from North America. We talked and ended
going to his 4 floor European pad around the corner to drink s’more. We sat
there and listened to all types of music, mostly jazz, talked about music,
and drank red wine and vodka limes. We left there around 5:30am and stumbled
back to our house boat bed. We got a little lost and ended up seeing the
most amazing church with the most beautiful spire rising high above all the
surrounding buildings. We stared at that for at least ten minutes. It was
amazing. The architecture of all the buildings, even parking lots, blew us
away. We got back to the boat @ 6:20am and crashed hard. Bree stayed up
until 7:00 organizing, don’t ask me why. We had to be up @ 9:30 for our free
included breakfast. Not enough sleep. We met a group of 3 people from
Berlin, and Essen, and they laughed because we stank like booze and couldn’t
really speak well or focus on anything. We crashed again for an hour. The
owner Frans woke us up, cause we would have slept until 5pm, and told us we
had to check out. It was hard but we left our bags there until later.

We spent that day cruising around recovering and looking at the sights. We
had to go to the train station and book our train to Copenhagen. We
discovered that there was no night train to Copenhagen, so we decided to go
to Vienna….smart move.

Next we went to the mall, and the supermarket to
buy some food to save some money. For 16 euros we got a ton of great food.
Amazing cheese, breads, crackers, crazy potato salad, cake, veggies, fruit,
and water. Groceries were amazingly affordable, and of outstanding quality.
We went and checked out another amazing church from the inside. It was
beautiful, but we had no idea what was in store for us church-wise in
Vienna. We couldve spent a week or two simply walking around, checking out
the city. We had to be at the train staion @ 7:00 pm.

We took an Ice train, high speed 300km/h, to Frankfurt and transferred onto
a night train to Vienna. We slept in bunks in a cabin on the train. We were
in a room with 3 other people.

We arrived in Vienna and were woken up by a free breakfast of bread and
butter and jam and coffee. We got into the train station and booked a night
train for the following night to Cologne. We found a hostel about 6 blocks
from the train station and got a private room for 36E. We then ventured down
through the shopping district into the ancient downtown core. WOW! the
sights were breathtaking. Vienna has more than 100 museums, and they all are
amazing even from the outside. Numerous churches were open and were all
unlike anything we’ve ever seen, straight out of a fantasy. Highlights
include, the Stephensdom, a massive cathedral in the heart of the city. St
Michael’s church filled with tombs beneath the floor. Saint Maria Theresa
Museum. ANother city that you could spend months in just exploring. We also
went into a traditional Viennese restaurant and would you believe it, Bree
ate Wiener Schnitzel. The food was great and we washed it down with a liter
mug full of beer each. Next we went to the Rathaus, (city hall) was the most
grandiose building we’ve ever seen, it towers over every single building
nearby, very detalied and intricate. They had it lit up at night and
decorated for christmas. There was a number for every day of december in the
windows, like an advent calender. Beneath it in the park surrounding it,
there was a Xmas market set up selling lots of beautiful jewellery, food and
ciders.

We drank the best cider we’ve ever had mixed with rum, and filled with
fruit. Hundreds of people were standing around drinking the ten different
flavours, having a blast drinking in public. No police, no rowdies. Festive
and fun. We met 2 university students who spoke good English and had a few
drinks with them. The cider was the best thing wed ever drank, but we
already said that….!!!!! What a setting, the trees were filled with
decorations, lights of different shapes and colours, hearts, snowmen, stars
etc. Everything was sparkling including the Rahaus, and us too. It closed @
9pm so we walked around drinking Vodka OJ out of our travel bottle and ended
up taking a subway to Kaisermuhlen, the site of the Vienna International
Center. We basically went there because it looked cool on the map. We
arrived and it was completely different. 10 minutes away, brand new
buildings, office types, all banks no bars. We went back to Vienna. Climbed
the stairs to the Rathaus and had a rest with a great view. Got a couple of
hot dogs, and beers @ 2am and went back to the hostel.

This is our fourth day of travel and it is noon in Vienna. We are at the
hostel writing this to you guys and we have to go explore more. We are going
to see the famous palace, cant remember the name, and ride the oldest ferris
wheel in Europe dating back to the 1800s. Hope it doesn’t break! We’re off
to Cologne tonight @ 7:50 to go to Trier.

Sidenote: Thanks Gunther for recommending Vienna to us 11 out of 10 was an
understatement!

The 10 Best Party Cities in Europe

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Are you addicted to partying on the weekends like most youngsters who enjoy a good nights drink? If you’re one of those who have a regular routine going to different clubs and pubs in your are, don’t restrict yourself to your local environment. We’ve done all the research for you and found the best cities to go crazy all night till dawn. Let your hair loose and experience some real parties across the globe.

Ibiza

1. Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza?s proudly claims itself to be the biggest party spot on the planet. Located off the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea, the island draws hedonists from across the European continent.

The pre-partying starts at about 11 each night where the partygoers gather at bars to have drinks before heading out to the real party later on in the night. The big party doesn?t start until 2AM and last until 8. The main parties focus on techno music and dancing. At some of the world-famous clubs, like Espuma (Spanish for foam), foam is pumped out to the dance floor and can pile above sight level ? be sure to be dressed for the occasion. A lot of Ibiza veterans comment that the best aspect of the party atmosphere there is that partygoers aren?t so caught up in their outward appearance, but their ?inner? beauty.

After the night parties are the ?after hours? clubs which open at 8am and last until noon. After that, partygoers can return to their hotels and sleep it off or just head to the beach and get ready for another night of partying. Honestly, not a lot of sleep happens here. Check hotels in Ibiza through Ratestogo.

Sinners in Amsterdam

2. Amsterdam, Holland

Amsterdam is Europe?s party headquarters. It doesn?t matter what time of the year, in Amsterdam the party never stops. In Amsterdam party activities that are traditionally taboo in other countries are completely legal. Within the world-famous Red Light District, scantily clad women of all shapes, sizes, and colors openly display their wares. If participation isn?t your thing there are a huge variety of sex shows.

Escape - AmsterdamAmsterdam is also famous for its coffee shops. They don?t just serve coffee in these joints, they actually serve joints ? of the marijuana type. The good coffee shops will have a menu describing all the various types of marijuana available, and the effects of each type. Consuming marijuana is legal in the coffee shops and other designated areas, but don?t try doing this in undesignated parts of town where it is strictly forbidden.

The nightlife in Amsterdam is also excellent. It?s not uncommon for after-hours parties to last until noon here. There are numerous pubs and clubs. The most lively times of the week are Wednesday through Sunday while on Mondays and Tuesdays everyone tries to catch up on their sleep.

Pamplona

3. Pamplona, Spain

Overall, Spain takes the title as Europe?s best country for a party with 3 locations featured in this top-10 list and the Spanish city of Pamplona, made famous by Ernest Hemingway for the running of the bulls during the Festival of San Fermin, deserves mentioning.

The historic district is filled with relaxed bars sure to fit anyone?s fancy. Many of them won?t even have a sign advertising them as such, but feel free to wander from place to place, just as the locals do. Of course, Pamplona has its share of thumping night clubs also, as has become tradition in Spain. These clubs have strict dress codes and desire their partygoers to be of the beautiful type, so make sure a female is in your crew and dress to the nines to gain admittance. These clubs stay open until 6am. Check Pamplona hotels for more information.

Barcelona beach parties

4. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is another Spanish party headquarters. A breathtakingly beautiful city located in the North-East of Spain, Barcelona is home to great shopping, Gaudi architecture, beaches, and is a great place to party. Every kind of music is featured in the clubs here and the styles differ with the neighborhoods.

Clubs are located throughout the city, but one must be particularly careful of pickpockets in the central, ?gothic? area. Never leave your purse or bag unattended here. However, the bars here are worth checking out for the local flavor Barcelona has to offer. The best clubs are located along the waterfront area where music from techno to salsa can be heard well into the night. These clubs don?t open until midnight and the party doesn?t stop until morning.

Athens party

5. Athens, Greece

The Greeks have always known how to party. After all, the term ?hedonism? does find its roots in the Greek word for pleasure ? hedon. In Athens, many will notice that the working people go home for naps in the middle of the day. This is because the parties last until 4 o?clock the following morning. Along the beach in Glyfada are indoor/outdoor dance clubs that attract the top DJs from around the world.

Typically, Athens clubs are a little dressy (for men, anyway) where men may be required to wear slacks. More casual bars are located around the harbor area if strutting your stuff isn?t on the agenda.

However, while in Athens it is important to be wary of the ?tourist trap? bars located around the Plaka area. Preying particularly on men, women approach asking to buy drinks where the drink ends up being something quite expensive, like an entire bottle of Dom Perignon.

Stockholm6. Stockholm, Sweden

For the citizens of Stockholm, partying on the weekends is just not enough. Here, the Wednesday night party has become very common. The long sun-filled summer evenings and, conversely, the long winter nights in Scandanavia give the Swedes a strong commitment to a thriving nightlife.

Admission prices to the hippest clubs in the Stureplan area of Stockholm can be somewhat expensive, upwards of 70 Kronor ($11.07 US), but that is a small price to pay for a wonderful, memorable evening. Some of the most popular night spots include Kungstr?dgarden and Skansen. Many clubs stay open until 4 or even 5am. After a hectic night, you can crash at a last minute hotel in Stockholm.

Saint Tropez

7. St. Tropez, France

St. Tropez, widely known as the playground for the rich and famous and for its unmatched party scene, is located along the French Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea. Here it is quite probably to hobnob with the rich and famous in clubs like Les Caves du Roy in the Hotel Byblos and Bodega de Papagayo, which attracts a younger crowd. There is also an Irish club with plenty of Guinness and live music. For men, be sure to bring a lady with you so you may gain entrance to the clubs.

Obviously, travel to St. Tropez is quite expensive so those on tighter budgets may wish to lodge in Nice or Cannes and make an evening trip to St. Tropez with perhaps a single night?s stay (for recovery) in Lou Cagnard or Le Baron. Be sure to bring plenty of drinking money. You may even be able to find some alcohol at a hotel in St. Tropez.

Munich party

8. Munich, Germany

If Spain has a runner-up in the party country category, Germany is the runner-up. All German cities are populated with great bars and clubs. However, Munich is the best place to party in Germany. Home to a large college-age population, and world-famous for its beer-fueled Oktoberfest, Munich has the perfect mix for a good party.

Like other locations in Europe, evening gatherings start at bars before venturing to the late-night dance clubs where party-seekers meet up with others seeking the same. Then, it?s off to the clubs that stay open until 4am. Some of the more famous include Prinzregentenstrabe 1 (P1 for short), a stylish club for the beautiful people that at one time was a USO during WWII and 4004, aptly named for the 4004 square meters this club covers. Here a few hotels nearby in Munich.

Florence

9. Florence, Italy

Forget the boring old Eternal City, Florence is where it?s at if you are looking to party. Home to a large population of students, the prime partying age, Florence is full of young people venturing out for their taste of freedom. The drinking age is 18 here, so the scene is definitely young.

Wine flows freely at bars and clubs that stay open until 3am ? quite late by Italian standards. The best night spots are located in the Oltrarno, south of the Arno River and in the Piazza della Signoria. Dress style at the bars and clubs here is quite stylish and leaning towards the conservative. Freshen up at your Florence hotel before going out for a long party.

Budapest nightclubs

10. Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is definitely an up and comer and is not usually thought of in lists of the best places to party in Europe. Budapest has come a long way since the oppressive Communist regime was deposed in 1989. During advertised ?club nights? dance clubs stay open until 4am and feature DJs from around the world. Some of the more interesting clubs include A38, an old Ukrainian stone-carrying ship refurbished and permanently moored in the Danube and the Bahnhof Music Club featuring talented local DJs and a dance floor packed with the beautiful people.

Budapest also has quite a few casinos along the Danube river; the area is known locally as the Dunakorz?. These are usually of the high brow type, are located in luxury hotels, and require formal dress.

Best working holiday jobs

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

To really get under the skin of a place, and to finance the onward journey, why not consider a working holiday? Quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to see the world, here are ten suggestions for how to wisely spend your time while traveling.

Leading tours

The best thing about leading tour groups is being paid to sightsee in a foreign country. Working every day with locals also allows you to get under a country’s skin. As a tour leader you’re responsible for the smooth running of the trip and the satisfaction of your group. Most operators require their leaders to speak a foreign language and to sign up for two or more seasons. You won’t be doing this job for the pay, but whatever you do earn will be in addition to free accommodation, return air fare and often free meals.

Companies such as Explore Adventure Holidays regularly recruit for people to lead tours worldwide; most will let you apply online.

Teaching English

If you’re reading this, then you already possess the prime qualification required for rewarding work overseas. The phenomenal popularity of the English language has created a huge demand for teachers. Those with formal teaching qualifications and experience can make a veritable career out of teaching, feted by foreign schools which pay airfares and look after work permits and paperwork. English teaching can also pay well: it’s possible to come home with savings after a year of work in Japan or South Korea, for example.www.i-to-i.com/tefl

Most education providers require you to have completed a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course.

Au Pairing

There are few better ways to get cosy with a foreign culture than to live and work with a local family. Au pairing may not pay well, but most use it as an opportunity to master a language: fluency is priceless. Essentially, you have to love children, but most employers also prefer to employ single people with no dependents, who are aged between 17 and 27. You’ll need to prove that you’ve spent time caring for children – a job that’s not short on responsibility.www.bestaupairguide.com

Working in ski resorts

Working in a ski resort is less a job, more of a lifestyle. You’ll likely end up skiing all day and partying all night. Though competition is stiff , there are loads of opportunities to work in resorts: from instructing on the slopes to working behind the scenes in a chalet. You’ll need international instructor qualifications to work as an instructor, where the pay is modest but the cool factor’s high. Chalet staff cook and clean and though this work carries less kudos and cash, there is usually a great camaraderie among workers.www.whistlerblackcomb.com

Top resorts like Whistler hold recruiting sessions overseas for quality staff; check your fave snow spot online and carve up an opportunity.

Writing

Apart from heading to some exotic destination for inspiration to write that best-selling novel, journalism is probably the best known of the ‘proper jobs’ in which you can ensure some money dribbles into your account. If you’ve got a nose for news and can write, pitch a story to the editor responsible for the relevant section of an appropriate newspaper or magazine. Essentially, you need to be contactable and have the capacity to deliver on your pitch.

Pitch your travel stories to major newspapers or magazines, as these will have a budget for freelance stories.

Waiting/working in a bar

Whether you’re working the floor taking food orders in a bustling cafe or pulling pints in a village pub, this is people-focused work: it’s not known as the hospitality industry for nothin’. Though the hours can be long and the pay a pittance, you’ll likely come across a lot of locals, and tips can plump out an average earning. Most establishments require that you have some experience, particularly for working in a bar (changing kegs and mixing cocktails).www.newyorkbartendingschool.com

Make sure you have the skills and qualifications required, available from places like the New York Bartending School.

Cooking/working as a kitchen hand

If you’re a maestro on the burners (and you’re qualified), you could secure work as a chef in a restaurant or a hotel. Those without qualifications can still get in the kitchen: prepping food, flipping burgers or doing the washing up (affectionately known as ‘dish pigging’). Working in restaurants and hotels often puts you in touch with other travellers, and offers a casual environment in which to earn a bit of cash. While washing up might not make you wealthy, it will give you soft hands.www.gumtree.com is the best site for kitchen-hand jobs in major Western cities.www.wwoof.org

Farming work

If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty there is loads of labour that allows you to work outdoors – improving your tan while you work. Yachting Crew

Working for your passage can certainly put the wind in your sails. Getting on board a yacht will likely get you into nooks and crannies that most of us only dream about, particularly around the islands of the Aegean Sea, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean. Apart from some nifty knot tying, you need to work well in a team and under pressure. Tasks vary according to the vessel, but generally involve rigging, cleaning and maintenance. 20 Craziest Party Hostels Around the World

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

wild_party_girls

Everyone wants to party on the road but with a million hostels in the world, where should you go? I’ve searched high and low, drank with the best of them, and endured sleepless nights by the toilet to find the best party hostels out there.

Here are twenty that will keep you drinking, dancing, flirting, and hugging the porcelain goddess until the sun comes up:

Surf N’ Sun   :                 Surfers Paradise, Australia.surfers_paradise_pic

With a swimming pool and open courtyard, the Surf N’ Sun packs the young, the wild, and the alcoholic. Bar Crawls take place every night and the hostel offers punch and free club entry. Boxes of goon start flowing late afternoon when people come back from the beach.

The Clown and Bard   :      Prague, Czech Republicclown-and-bard

With a 36 person dorm room, this place is always hopping. There’s a bar downstairs with a two for three happy hour beginning a pillow lounge, the Flying Pig is the spot for those looking to channel their inner Bob Marley. There’s a constant cloud of smoke seeping out into streets at all hours of the day and night. Don’t worry if you run out- there are two coffeeshops across the street!

Base  :                                  Melbourne, Australiabase-backpackers-st-kilda

Base features a downstairs club that pumps out music every night. You won’t get any sleep as the music filters up the floors and entices you to come down and party until dawn. The young and the restless fill the dance floor after drinking pitchers of beer and cheap, colorful shots. There’s usually theme and karaoke nights that let you embarrass your self all night long.

Loki   :                                        Cusco,  Peruloki-peru

Located in a 450 year old building, Loki is known throughout South America for its parties. With regular events, an open lounge, and theme nights, I wouldn’t expect any sleep here either. The bar is regularly packed so tight, you’ll be practically grinding against your neighbor.

#11 Happy Guesthouse : Phnom Penh, Cambodia11-happy-guesthouse-cambodia

Why: Located by the lake in Phnom Penh, #11 Happy Guesthouse features a huge patio, two big screen TVs, a pool table, and one dollar beers. Always packed, this hostel is filled with the party seekers who spend their days sightseeing and night drinking beer before heading to the infamous Heart of Darkness.

St. Christopher’s Inn  :                London, Englandst-christophere28099s-inn-london

A bar, karaoke, cheap drinks, and a license to go until 4am all means that this hostel is bursting with partygoers and one the busiest in London. After you drink it down, you can take it off at the rooftop hot tub. People here know where the action is and if you play your cards right, it just might be your room.

Kabul   :                                     Barcelona, Spainkabul-spain

Located in the center of Las Ramblas, Kabul has a very open second floor where all parties happen. Happy hour officially begins at 7, which is usually a few hours after everyone wakes up. With a reputation for partying, this place keeps drawing those who start partying at 2 a.m. and sleep until 2 p.m. This place gives new meaning to the term “late night.” I was called a quitter for sleeping at 5 a.m.

The Rising Cock  :                      Lagos, Portugalrising-cock-portugal

The Rising Cock is infamous for its parties and it’s well deserved. Two things happen at the Rising Cock: drinking and drinking.

Start your day with the hostel’s booze cruise on which the majority of people get naked, and then keep the partying going with drinking games at the hostel. If you can’t handle 24 hour partying, this hostel is not for you.

The Pink Palace     :                         Corfu, Greecepink-palace-corfu-greece

The Pink Palace is one of the world’s most famous party hostels in the world and with good reason: toga parties, cheap shots of ouzo, happy hours, and theme nights. After a day at the beach (which is just minutes away) or their booze cruise, you’ll be spending the night dancing at their club, Palladium, until the sun comes up. The hostel has over 300 beds- there’s a good chance, you might not end up in yours!

The Treehouse    :                        Ko Chang, Thailandtreehouse-ko-chang

Every night is a bucket night at the Treehouse, and it’s the perfect blend of a relaxed hippy vibe and partying with a very active dance floor and a lot drinking. This place has all the ambiance you need and you don’t have to stay there to party there. People trickle in from all over to have fun, making this a hotspot on Lonely Beach.

The Yellow Location  :          Rome, Italyyellow-location-rome

With a bar downstairs and semi-nightly pub crawls, it’s pretty easy to meet people at the Yellow. It’s not a huge hostel either making the close quarters also convenient for meeting fellow travelers.

Ostello Archi Rossi   :        Florence, Italyostello-archi-rossi

This place has been popular for a long time as evident by the walls covered by the names of past guests. A big courtyard and common dining area keep people mingling and drinking vino rossi. There are some clubs down the street and, when they close, you can move back to the courtyard to keep the party going. The rooms are a little away from the action so you can actually get some sleep if you want.

Wombats    :                                    Berlin, Germanywombats-berlin

Known for its partying, Wombats rarely sees anyone over 25. With an ultra-chic bar, everyone breaks out their best attire and pickup skills here. Cheap drinks keep travelers mingling all night long. If you can’t meet anyone here, you can’t meet anyone anywhere.

The Jazz on South Beach  :   Miami, Florida USAjazz-on-south-beach-miami

Located right near the beach, The Jazz on South Beach has an excellent bar that hosts the bold and beautiful of South Beach. This is the place to stay if you’re looking to be seen in South Beach.

Carnival Court  :  Capetown, South Africacarnivalcourt-capetown

There’s no chance of a good night’s sleep at Carnival Court. Located near a lot of bars (there’s also a bar in the hostel), this place is a hangover waiting to happen.  It’s wild here and everyone is looking to break a new drinking record. The staff will point you in the direction of the parties but you just might have trouble walking there as the fun here starts well before the sun goes down.

Millhouse Hostel :                     Buenos Aires, Argentinamillhouse-hostel-buenos-aires

The music is on 24-hours a day at the Millhouse and the atmosphere is extremely social! Each night has a different activity such as dance party, karaoke night, and tango lessons. Definitely a hostel for those that want non-stop fun and excitement right at home! Most commonly heard line: “Were those moans from the porno shop next store or did you get lucky last night?”

Auckland Central Backpackers     Auckland, New Zealandauckland-central-backpackers

Located right down town, this hostel draws upon the fact its part of the Base chain. That means all the craziness of Melbourne spills over with people getting down and dirty all night long. It will give you another reason to keep staying longer in Auckland.

India House  :  New Orleans, Louisiana, USAindia-house-new-orleans

A funky converted house that was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, the India House features eccentric local characters and travelers who just can’t leave. Maybe it’s Bourbon St. Maybe it’s the jazz. Maybe it’s the beer vending machine in the kitchen. Whatever it is, people here know how to have a good time.

Tina’s Backpackers  :             Caye Caulker, Belizetinae28099s-backpackers-belize

Located right on the beach, Tina’s Backpackers keeps people in close quarters. Everyone here is into island living – sun by day, drink by night. Though the crowd tends to be a bit older (30ish), you wouldn’t know it by the way people party here. It is way off the beaten path but it’s worth it.

Amsterdam Street Criminals Verses my Bicycle !

Tags: , , , ,

amsterdam-station

The city of Amsterdam, the cultural capital of Holland with beautiful canals, Museums and architecture. However I had to face its nasty streetlife within my first few minutes !

Alighting at Amsterdam station, my first time in this diverse city I was walking to my hotel amongst the throng of people when suddenly this street thug grabbed me by the arm and offered me cheap electric goods if I came with him up an alleyway. I sure wasn’t going to fall for that con. Street thugs tried that one on me in Paris near the Moulin Rouge a week earlier, so by now I’d heard it all before from these criminals the World Over. I was really getting pissed with this guy’s attitude so I told him to F— Off ! I kept walking but he persisted to point I had to push him away. “OK man you watch yourself cause when I see you again I’ll fix you up” he yelled as I walked away. This made me fume, I just hate Drug dealing Bullies !  instead of going to pick up my rental car I decided to go strait to the hotel and freshen up, have workout in their Gym do some weights and smash into the Big Red Bag, a good training session to sharpen up for the impending confrontation with this thug.  I came out and hired a bike, I practiced a few swings with the bike in the local park and went looking for this big bully.

Riding along the canal near the Station I soon saw him with two other guys harassing most of the tourist as they went by,   I thought these guys have been doing this to long and about time someone stood up to them! I rode strait over to them with a giant skid keeping the bike between myself and the three thugs. They looked shocked that some tourist was challenging their turf ! The larger one said “Hey Tour De France all over” I gave them a look and I raised the bike at them and said “I start my training early !” well what a sight to see them all scamper off in various directions ! I had a laugh with some Canadian backpackers that witnessed the whole drama. One back for the entire long suffering tourist having to put up with these unwanted louts !
