I used to travel with way to much baggage. I realized I was constantly worried or concerned for my possessions and wasn’t enjoying my holiday.

I had planned my Europe holiday for October from Athens to London and needed to get around fast by Plane , Bus , & Train , spending 3 days each major city Athens, Rome, Paris, Geneva, Amsterdam, and London. There were plenty of stops along the way where I had a few hours to explore as well. . It‘s a great feeling to put your bag in a Train Station locker and go off and explore a city between departure times.

My solution was to get together the absolute essentials and then reduce by a third.

One of the best purchases you can make is a Mothers Baby carry pack.

The one I purchased had wheels and extend-able handle, pockets galore and a great solid design, I could also use as a backpack. Room in the bag for purchases if required. The other great advantage was I could take it as carry on luggage and avoid the long cues and delays in picking up luggage from the Airport carousel.

I saved money as well by not having to pay baggage fees, pay tips to porters, and taking Buses instead of Cabs

Traveling light also increases your security as you won’t be the target of thieves as you have no excess baggage.

My Travel Checklist

• Fleece top or similar
• Sandals and footwear for walking
• Small towel and swimwear
• 4 shirts/t-shirts
• Sun hat
• 1-2 pairs of shorts
• 1 pair of long trousers
• Watch or alarm clock
• Water bottle
• Toiletries
• Sunglasses
• Sunblock
• First-aid kit**

**First aid kit should contain lip salve, Aspirin, Band Aids, anti-histamine, Imodium or similar tablets for mild cases of diarrhea, and prescription drugs you may be taking.
